| This pickup was restored in 1984. It was originally from the Thetford Vt. area. The only sheet metal work that was needed was a new left rear fender and a a new panel on the front of the pickup box. Seems that this truck was used on a farm and hauled 40 quart milk cans and they did a number on the front panel. Other than that, it is totally original. Being a ¾ Ton, you would think that it would have a 4 speed transmission but it only was built with a 3 speed. The truck was actually built in early 1947. The door window glass was dated Nov and Dec 1946. The rear window was dated 1-47. The model desigination was "DR". That is listed in the original Chevrolet parts book as 1946 "second design" model. 1947 trucks were desiginated as "ER" for this particular model. |
