| This truck was originally a Fire Truck in the East Brookfield, Mass area. I obtained it in 1981, added the tag axle and then put it to work hauling logs from a “weekend” type project near my home. That project expanded and lasted about 12 years. More than a quarter of a million board feet of logs were trucked to the local mill. I also used this rig for more than just hauling logs. It also hauled my tractor around to various sites during haying season. The motor is a 1954 — 261 C.I. Chevrolet motor. The transmission is still the original 4 speed and the rear axle is a factory original vacuum shift 2 speed. It has 8.25 rubber all around. The load shown is 2820 board feet of Eastern White Pine, all on a 12' 7" body. |
