| This 1929 Chevrolet was an on-going
project for about 7 or 8 years. The process of tracking down various needed
parts took more time than I had originally anticipated. Tire rims from
Arizona, doors from Kansas kept me busy running for these parts. The biggest
challenge was re-doing the cab woodwork. Not having good pieces for patterns,
made the process of fabricating new wood a hard job. The body is a hand
crank platform dump. It has a scissors type lift. The truck has 6.00 rubber
on the front and 6.50 on the back. I have an after market kit on another
1930
truck that converts the rear wheels to duals. I might do it if I can
find some more 8 ply Denmans to match the two I just got for the rear.
The available 6.50's do not stand as tall as some original US Royal or
BF Goodrich 6.50's that I have. It was a very interesting and rewarding
project. |
